Paths is an immersive 3D sound sculpture and musical composition that a viewer performs by moving their body through space. The physical manifestation of the piece is an empty room inhabited by a distracted, and slowly wandering participant. A white line along the floor suggests a possible navigation of the sculpture.

By walking through the sculpture, the viewer encounters a spatialized sonic landscape that is mixed dynamically by their physical location in the installation, using a Kinect camera and software written in C++ with openFrameworks. The combination of sounds at any spot in the sculpture is unique, as is every trip through it.

The sound design was created using sonic convolutions of field recordings. Headphones are recommended for viewing documentation.
