ONE AND DREAM CHAIRS
One and Dream Chairs connects a real object and it’s natural origin. A viewer approaches an empty chair. As they sit in it, an animation turns the chair into a tree. When they rest their hands on the arms of the chair, a soundscape gradually envelopes them as the animation progresses. Both of these processes take time – the desired interaction is calm contemplation. When the viewer stands, the tree sinks back into the chair, and the soundscape returns to silence.
One and Dream Chairs uses embedded capacitive and pressure sensors, and software written in Processing.
