INCOMPOSSIBLE PLACES

Incompossible Places is a live performance study of a woman who attempts to separate herself in space.

The woman takes measurements and writes in a notebook in dim light. She recites a brief text and sits in a chair in darkness. She breathes hard, blowing all of the air out of her lungs and takes a deep breath.

As long as she holds her breath, she can be in two places at once, one sitting still, one moving through the room gathering the momentum necessary to affect physical change on the world. This piece is a meditation on the writings of Whitehouse, and first person accounts of astral projectors.

A custom bluetooth remote allows control of sonic and video elements from the stage, using custom hardware and software written C++ with openFrameworks.
